Scoring a Performance
Walk through the adjudication screen - enter scores for each sub-caption, use the stopwatch, and record commentary.
Before You Begin
- Make sure you're logged in and have selected your event.
- You must have the Judge role and an active assignment for this event.
- We recommend testing your microphone before your first performance.
Opening the Adjudication Screen
From the judge home screen, tap the performance you want to score in your schedule. This opens the adjudication screen, which shows:
- Group name and performance class at the top.
- Sub-captions - The scoring categories within your caption that you need to evaluate.
- Stopwatch - A built-in timer you can use to track the performance.
- Record button - Start recording commentary at any time.
Entering Scores
- Tap the score field for a sub-caption. A modal will open showing the sub-caption name, the maximum value, and the precision (smallest increment allowed).
- Enter your score and tap Save. The score is uploaded to the event host's dashboard immediately.
- Work through each sub-caption in order, or jump between them as needed.
- When you navigate back from the adjudication screen, any remaining unsaved changes are saved automatically.
Using the Stopwatch
Tap the Stopwatch button to start timing the performance. Tap again to stop. The stopwatch is a personal tool - it doesn't affect scoring and isn't visible to anyone else.
Tip: Each score is sent to the host dashboard as soon as you save it - there's no separate submit step. You can continue adjusting scores at any time until they are locked. See Locking Your Scores for details.
