Accepting Donations
Accept contributions from event supporters using preset or custom donation amounts.
Before You Begin
- Make sure you're logged in and have selected your event.
- You must have the Volunteer role for this event.
- We recommend setting up Tap to Pay before accepting donations.
Note: The Collect Donations feature is not available on iOS devices. It is available on Android only.
Starting a Donation
- From the volunteer home screen, tap Collect Donations.
- You'll see preset donation amounts: $5, $10, and $20. Tap one to select it.
- For a different amount, tap Other and enter a custom amount (minimum $5).
Covering Processing Fees
Below the donation amount, you'll see a checkbox offering to add a small amount to cover processing fees. If the donor agrees, check this box - the fee amount is calculated automatically and added to the total.
Processing the Donation
Tap Checkout when the amount is confirmed. Donations are processed by card only - the donor taps their card or phone on your device, or uses the Bluetooth card reader.
After tapping Checkout, you'll see the donation amount, any fees, and the total before the payment is processed.
After the Donation
Once confirmed, you'll land on the order complete screen. From here you can send a receipt to the donor or tap Accept More Donations to start another.
To view past donation orders, tap the scroll icon in the top corner of the Collect Donations screen.
Tip: Let donors know that a receipt can be emailed to them for their records. Just ask for their email address after the payment goes through.
