Managing Judges
Add judges to your event so they can score performances through the Marching Maestro mobile app.
Adding a Judge
- Click Add Judge.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Name - The judge's name (up to 50 characters). A character counter is displayed below the field.
- Email - The judge's email address (up to 191 characters).
- Click Add.
Marching Maestro checks whether the judge already has an account. If they do, they are added directly. If they don't, an invitation email is sent with instructions on how to create an account and accept the invitation.
Judges Table
The judges table shows:
- Name - The judge's name.
- Email - The judge's email address.
- Status - A color-coded chip: green "active" for judges who have accepted, or default "pending" for those who haven't yet.
- Last Reminder Sent At - For pending judges, shows when the last reminder email was sent.
- Actions - Available actions depend on the judge's status.
Pending Judge Actions
For judges with a "pending" status, you have additional options:
- Copy invite link - Click the link icon to copy the judge's unique invitation URL to your clipboard. You can share this directly with the judge if they didn't receive the email.
- Send reminder - Click the paper airplane icon to manually send a reminder email. A confirmation dialog will appear. Marching Maestro also sends automatic reminder emails periodically.
Tip: If a judge says they haven't received their invitation, try copying the invite link and sending it to them directly.
Assigning Judges to Captions
Judge-to-caption assignment happens on the Tabulation page. From the recap view, click on a caption header to open the Edit Caption modal, where you can assign a judge from the dropdown list of active judges.
Deleting a Judge
Click the trash icon to remove a judge. The confirmation message differs based on their status:
- Active judges - "Are you sure you want to delete [name]? Any scores or commentary entered by the judge will also be deleted."
- Pending invites - "Are you sure you want to delete the invite for [email]?"
Caution: Deleting an active judge permanently removes all scores and commentary they have entered.
