Live Stream Won't Start

If you're having trouble starting a live stream, work through these steps.

Confirm Streaming Is Enabled

The event host must enable live streaming for the event before anyone can broadcast. If you don't see the Live Stream option on the volunteer home screen, the host hasn't turned it on. Check with your event coordinator.

Confirm You Have Admin Access

Live streaming is only available to users with admin access for the event. If you have the Volunteer role but aren't an admin, you won't see the Live Stream option. Contact the event host if you believe you should have access.

Grant Camera and Microphone Permissions

Streaming requires both camera and microphone access. If either permission is missing, the app will prompt you to enable it before you can proceed.

On iPhone or iPad:

Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap Maestro.
Toggle both Camera and Microphone on.

On Android:

Open the Settings app.
Tap Apps (or Apps & Notifications).
Find and tap Maestro.
Tap Permissions, then enable Camera and Microphone.

Check Your Internet Connection

Live streaming requires a strong, stable internet connection. Wi-Fi is strongly recommended over cellular data.

Move closer to your Wi-Fi router if the signal is weak.
Avoid streaming from areas with poor network coverage.
If the stream repeatedly drops or fails to connect, switch networks or try a mobile hotspot as a backup.

Check for Error Messages

If the stream fails to start, the app will display an error message explaining what went wrong. Take note of the message - it can help your event host or Marching Maestro support diagnose the issue.

Still Not Working?

If you've confirmed streaming is enabled, you have admin access, permissions are granted, and your connection is stable:

Force close and reopen the app.
Restart your device.
Try a different device if one is available.

If the problem continues, reach out to Marching Maestro support. In the app, tap your avatar in the top-right corner, then tap Contact Support. On the website, tap the chat icon in the bottom-right corner.
