🏅Scoring & Commentary Checklist
You can follow this checklist to ensure scoring & commentary is configured properly for your Marching Maestro event.
- Pick a scoring system for your event
- A scoring system defines the criteria your registrants will be judged against.
- A scoring system is made up of caption groups, captions, and subcaptions.
- Marching Maestro offers a curated set of predefined scoring systems, or you can create your own.
- Manage your scoring systems in the Marching Maestro event dashboard under Scoring -> Scoring Systems
- Create one or more scoring rounds
- For each scoring round in your event, judges will be able to enter scores and record commentary for each registrant.
- Each scoring rounds needs:
- A name
- A scoring system
- One or more registrants assigned
- You can create scoring rounds for your event in the Marching Maestro event dashboard under Scoring -> Scoring Rounds
- Invite judges
- Judges will use the Marching Maestro app to enter scores and record commentary.
- Invite judges to your event under Scoring -> Judges
- Assign judges to a caption
- In order to use the Marching Maestro app, each judge will need to be assigned to a caption.
- You can assign judges to a caption by navigating to Scoring -> Tabulation, clicking on the ✏️ icon beside a caption name, and choosing a judge.
- Define awards (optional)
- If you will be giving out awards at the end of your event, you can define these awards in Marching Maestro.
- Once all scores have been entered for your event, you’ll be able to see which registrant one each award.
- Create awards for your event under Scoring -> Awards
By following the steps above, you’ll be all set for your judges to enter scores and record commentary for your event.
