You can follow this checklist to ensure scoring & commentary is configured properly for your Marching Maestro event.

  • Pick a scoring system for your event
    • A scoring system defines the criteria your registrants will be judged against.
    • A scoring system is made up of caption groups, captions, and subcaptions.
    • Marching Maestro offers a curated set of predefined scoring systems, or you can create your own.
    • Manage your scoring systems in the Marching Maestro event dashboard under Scoring -> Scoring Systems
  • Create one or more scoring rounds
    • For each scoring round in your event, judges will be able to enter scores and record commentary for each registrant.
    • Each scoring rounds needs:
      • A name
      • A scoring system
      • One or more registrants assigned
    • You can create scoring rounds for your event in the Marching Maestro event dashboard under Scoring -> Scoring Rounds
  • Invite judges
    • Judges will use the Marching Maestro app to enter scores and record commentary.
    • Invite judges to your event under Scoring -> Judges
  • Assign judges to a caption
    • In order to use the Marching Maestro app, each judge will need to be assigned to a caption.
    • You can assign judges to a caption by navigating to Scoring -> Tabulation, clicking on the ✏️ icon beside a caption name, and choosing a judge.
  • Define awards (optional)
    • If you will be giving out awards at the end of your event, you can define these awards in Marching Maestro.
    • Once all scores have been entered for your event, you’ll be able to see which registrant one each award.
    • Create awards for your event under Scoring -> Awards

By following the steps above, you’ll be all set for your judges to enter scores and record commentary for your event.
